The BunkaCraft Teaching Method:

The BunkaCraft Teaching Method uses a Sampler System.  Using Samplers when teaching stitches and techniques has been consistently proven to increase the level of skill and enjoyment for the student.  Each Sampler is designed to offer easy, step by step instruction in the art of Bunka.  Students practice the technique on the sampler before applying it to a picture kit. 

BunkaCraft Level 1 Sampler -  Utilizes most of the basic stitches and techniques used in Bunka Embroidery.  This Sampler corresponds to the Tokyo Bunka Catalogue.  At this level, Our Instruction book - Bunka Embroidery basics; Stitches and Techniques - is highly recommended as a supplement for students.  Also, BunkaCraft kit BC-200 Pansies in Crystal was designed as a complimentary kit to the Level 1 Course.  This kit shows most of the stitches used on the sampler.

BunkaCraft Level 2 Sampler  ( available soon ) - Corresponds to the Matsuhato Catalogue.

If you currently teach a recognized method of Bunka Embroidery and have the dedication to excellence needed to further the art of Bunka, we would like to hear from you.  We are looking for qualified teachers in all geographic areas.  We offer competitive discounts, quality teaching materials and ongoing support.  We design and manufacture our own line of BunkaCraft Embroidery kits and samplers, plus we import and distribute Authentic Japanese Bunka Embroidery kits and supplies ( Tokyo Bunka and Matsuhato ). 

We offer a Referral Service, matching student inquiries to the teacher in the area nearest to them.

If you actively teach and promote Bunka Embroidery, you may qualify for BunkaCraft Teacher Status.

 Become a Bunka Embroidery Teacher:

Being a BunkaCraft Embroidery teacher is fun and rewarding!  If you love to stitch Bunka and are outgoing, patient and enjoy working with people, we would like to hear from you.  As a teacher, you set  your own class schedule, work the hours you want and promote your own bunka studio.  We provide the Samplers, Kits, Supplies and Support.

Qualifications - Level 1 Sampler

To qualify to teach the BunkaCraft Level 1 Sampler:

1)  You are currently an active, qualified Bunka Teacher, stitching at a level that meets BunkaCraft standards.

Or:

2) Choose and complete one Tokyo Bunka kit from each of categories listed below

Mountain Scene - 1 of the following - #77, or  109, 187, 195, 462, 463

Flower - 1 of the following - #124, or  293, 295, 297, 468, 469, 511

Ship - 1 of the following - #135, or  292, 298, 474

Fluffy Animal - 1 of the following - # 402, or  419, 420, 422, 424, 428

BunkaCraft Level 1 Sampler

If you have not taught a method recognized by BunkaCraft, each completed kit must be submitted for a constructive critique and meet the standard of stitching set by BunkaCraft.  Remove the kit from the working frame and mail it to us with a cheque or money order for $15.00  this fee covers the return postage and written critique.  Upon the successful completion of all of the requirements, BunkaCraft Teacher Status may be offered.

Note:  Teachers are independent studio owners and are not employed by BunkaCraft.   In order to qualify for Teacher's discounts, you must be an active teacher.  To be listed and / or referred as a teacher, you must offer the BunkaCraft Teaching method in your studio.
